What you'll do

As a server-side (cloud) developer at iO, you'll immediately dive into challenging international projects while focusing on your personal growth. iO has extensive experience guiding and developing enthusiastic software developers who are serious about making their mark in the world of Cloud (both AWS and Azure) and Java and/or Node.js, applied in high-performance systems, APIs, and with a strong focus on security.
Growth & Development
At iO, you'll quickly get hands-on experience with modern AWS or Azure tools. We'll support your development journey with a range of training programs available to us as an AWS and Azure partner. You'll work toward becoming an AWS or Azure professional (Developer or Architect level), and we'll help elevate your Java and Node.js/JavaScript skills to an even higher level, implementing cutting-edge frameworks like Spring Boot and Node. Each year, you'll have access to a €3,000 budget dedicated to your personal development.
You'll receive in-depth training in secure development from industry specialists like Philippe De Ryck from Pragmatic Web Security. Additionally, you can specialize in areas such as DDD (Domain-Driven Development), event-based architectures, and BDD (Behavior-Driven Development).

You'll quickly gain responsibility for components and individual services, participate in the Java/Cloud Chapter (which also works with Node), share knowledge across projects, and collaborate with other developers through the specialized tracks mentioned above.
As you progress, you can further specialize in security, architecture, data platforms, or other areas. At iO, you'll join an organization full of technology specialists who will continuously challenge your curiosity!
Your qualities and skills as Server-Side Java/Node.js Cloud Engineer
A completed technical education, preferably in Computer Science, Communication & Multimedia Design, or Software Engineering at Bachelor's level.
Strong English communication skills to interact with clients and iO colleagues.
Ability to analyze and solve software and requirements complexity, present solutions to co-workers and clients, and communicate effectively.
Experience with an Agile / Scrum or Kanban style way of working is preferred.
Ability to predict your own work pace and flag issues blocking you from completing your work.
Minimum of three years of experience with Java or Node.js, deep enthusiasm for cloud technology, and a desire to deepen your expertise in server-side development in a cloud-native environment.
Ambition to become a true expert in your field and continuously expand your knowledge.
Familiarity with or interest in learning more about iO’s key technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, AWS, Azure, and tools from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation
