How do you help young people find an education that truly suits them? Zadkine—one of the largest vocational education institutions in the Rotterdam region with over 17,000 students—believes there is a key to success. Together, we created a new digital environment tailored to the world of Generation Z: a website that not only inspires but also converts.
Understanding Generation Z: fast, visual and mobile
Young people have developed a sixth sense for digital content. Within seven seconds, they decide whether something is relevant. Zadkine saw that as an opportunity. Together we explored the world of our target audience through an open day, interviews and interactive sessions. The insights were clear: 65% of traffic comes via mobile, atmosphere is key, and the phase of the student journey greatly determines the information needs.

From mobile design to smart features
Starting with a mobile-first design, we developed a website that intuitively guides users through more than 500 programs. Large images of real students, generous white space and a clear structure give visitors the confidence they need to find their way.
The big innovation? Studiematch—an interactive tool that lets young people swipe through programs that match their interests. Behind the scenes, our developers ensured a smart integration of various backend systems, making the technology seamlessly support the experience.
One voice, everywhere
A new digital experience calls for a consistent tone of voice. Zadkine developed a distinctive brand voice that speaks to young people and builds trust. This recognisable tone is applied across all pages of the website and evolves alongside Zadkine’s content strategy.
The numbers speak for themselves
The new website delivered immediate results: a 32% increase in conversion after launch. Since then, we’ve continued to optimise based on data and user behaviour. The goal is clear: helping young people at every step of their orientation journey to choose a study path that really fits.
