What you'll do
Are you the AI & Data Architect who inspires and guides clients through their AI and data-driven transformation?
As a client-facing AI & Data Architect at iO, you are the strategic sparring partner who helps organizations discover, shape, and realize their AI and data capabilities.
You will primarily work on AI projects for larger enterprise clients, where AI solutions are integrated into existing, often complex IT ecosystems with legacy applications, strict non-functional requirements (performance, security, reliability), and high scalability demands.
In this role, you act as the bridge between cutting-edge AI technology and business strategy. You work closely with clients and prospects to understand their business challenges, translate them into concrete AI and data solutions, and actively contribute to solutioning and the development of POCs. You are the one who makes complex AI concepts accessible and gets clients excited about the possibilities.
You collaborate with lead developers on concrete solutions and are responsible for presenting them convincingly to clients and stakeholders. Success in this role is not only determined by the quality of the AI solution itself, but also by its performant and scalable integration into the client’s existing IT landscape — including seamless connections with backend systems, applications, and data platforms.
You will mainly be involved in commercial trajectories and the discover & define phases, where you leverage your AI and data expertise to inspire clients and shape concrete solutions.
What Are Your Responsibilities as an AI & Data Architect?
Client-facing solutioning: Work with clients and prospects to identify business challenges and translate them into concrete AI and data solutions
Commercial involvement: Contribute AI and data expertise in sales processes, design solutions, and estimate workloads for complex AI projects
Hands-on development: Collaborate with lead developers on solutioning and develop POCs to make concepts tangible
Client presentations: Present AI solutions and architectures to clients, explain complex technologies in an accessible way, and act as a sparring partner
AI & Data architecture: Design scalable AI solutions, data pipelines, and integrate LLMs, RAG patterns, and analytics platforms
Enterprise integration & architecture: Design robust and scalable AI solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing backend systems, APIs, data lakes, ERP systems, and other business-critical applications
Trend watching: Stay up to date with the latest AI and data developments and translate them into practical opportunities for clients
Knowledge sharing: Support AI awareness and capabilities within the organization through internal sessions and knowledge sharing
Thought leadership: Commercially leverage your expertise through blog posts, client inspiration sessions, and external speaking engagements
Discover & Define support: Contribute to architectural decisions and approach during project phases, before handing over to development teams
Your qualities and skills as AI & Data Architect
Why You’re the Perfect AI & Data Architect
Client-facing expertise: Experience with client interaction, requirements gathering, and translating business challenges into technical solutions

Senior software engineering experience: Several years of experience as a senior software engineer or solution architect in an enterprise environment with complex backend landscapes and integration challenges
Commercial skills: Comfortable in sales processes and able to convincingly present technical expertise to business stakeholders
Hands-on development: Experience with software development, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), data processing frameworks, and building POCs and prototypes
Strong communication skills: Able to explain complex AI concepts to both technical teams and C-level executives; strong presenter
Trend awareness: Actively follows the latest developments in AI and data and translates them into practical business opportunities
Strategic thinking: Able to think at an architectural level about AI implementations while also contributing hands-on to concrete solutions
Inspiring personality: Able to excite clients about AI opportunities and act as a trusted advisor in their digital transformation
Thought leadership: Affinity for knowledge sharing, writing, and speaking about AI & data topics, and eager to broadly leverage your expertise
Flexible working style: Comfortable in both strategic discussions and hands-on development work, able to switch between different project phases
Ideal Profile
A senior AI & Data Architect with a strong software engineering background in an enterprise context, who is commercially strong and capable of contributing hands-on to solutioning and POCs.
