Significant progress since 2023
Our performance has progressed faster than originally anticipated. Starting from a 2023 baseline of 15,072 tCO₂e, we reduced our total emissions to 13,949 tCO₂e in 2024, a decrease of 7.45%. In 2025, emissions fell further to 11,573 tCO₂e, representing a year-on-year reduction of 17.03%.
As a result, iO achieved a total reduction of approximately 23% in just two years. This means we have already exceeded the ambition set out in our original 2030 target.
Raising our ambition
Reaching our initial targets ahead of schedule does not mean our work is complete. On the contrary, it shows that we can—and should—set a more meaningful level of ambition for the years ahead.
We will therefore reassess and raise our greenhouse gas reduction targets for 2027 and 2030. This review will be completed in Q1 2027 and will take into account our progress to date, the continued growth and evolution of our organisation, and the actions required to achieve further structural reductions.
Continuing to measure and report
We will continue to measure our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, monitor progress and report transparently on our performance. Our focus remains on achieving lasting reductions throughout our operations and value chain, while continuously strengthening the quality of our environmental data and approach.
Our commitment is clear: we will build on the progress already achieved and continue raising the bar for iO’s environmental performance.
Supporting global sustainability principles
Our sustainability commitments are also guided by internationally recognised principles. iO formally endorses the United Nations Global Compact and its Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Through our participation, we publicly confirm our commitment to integrating these principles into our strategy, operations and decision-making, and to continuously improving and transparently communicating our progress.
