How do you combine rebranding and a new site for a better user experience?

A corporate website rebrand that merged multiple sites into one modern, user-friendly platform

As the professional association of insurance companies, Assuralia represents virtually all Belgian and foreign insurers operating in our market. The brand wanted to reinvent itself and merge its existing websites into one practical, user-friendly platform. They also asked iO to create a brand new visual identity that highlights their core values. The result: a complete corporate website rebrand that seamlessly connects brand and digital experience.

  • Multiple websites consolidated into one platform

  • New visual identity with logo and brand book

  • Drupal 10 headless with NextJS frontend

  • Target audience research and content strategy

  • Word and PowerPoint templates for consistent communication

The challenge

Redesign Assuralia's various websites into one cohesive platform with a new, more modern brand image for a better user experience.

The solution

A combined approach: first define core values through workshops, then develop a new visual identity and merge the websites into one platform on Drupal 10 headless.

Assuralia x iO: from fragmented presence to one strong brand

Assuralia is the professional association of insurance companies in Belgium, representing virtually the entire sector. As the voice of the insurance industry, they communicate with diverse audiences: from members and policymakers to consumers and press.

iO became the partner for both brand repositioning and digital transformation. Together, we worked on a journey that integrated branding and web development, ensuring the new identity and platform aligned from day one.

Core values as foundation

A corporate website rebrand doesn't start with design, but with identity. We organised several workshops to define Assuralia's core values. What makes the organisation unique? What does the brand stand for? Those answers formed the foundation for everything that followed.

Based on the workshops, we developed a new visual identity: a new logo, a complete brand book, and practical templates for Word and PowerPoint. This enables Assuralia's staff to communicate seamlessly across all channels with a consistent look and feel.

Merging websites with strategy

The website approach went beyond a technical migration. We conducted in-depth research into target audiences, analysed the content of existing websites, and determined how to merge them effectively. The result: one platform that brings together all insurance information and industry news, tailored to the needs of each audience.

For development, we chose Drupal 10 headless to manage content and build pages, combined with a NextJS frontend for fast, dynamic display. This architecture gives Assuralia the flexibility to manage content easily whilst delivering a modern user experience.

One brand, one platform, one story

Assuralia now has a website that brings together all insurance information and industry news, tailored to the needs of every audience. The new brand image highlights Assuralia's values in a modern, contemporary way.

But the impact extends beyond the website. Thanks to the new brand book, staff have all the tools they need to communicate consistently across every channel. From presentations to press releases: the Assuralia brand now speaks with one voice.
